Thai Castor Oil Industries Company Limited
History Of TCO Group
 
                     In 1977 aleading Thai castor seed exporter together with the biggest and oldest castor seed crusher in Europe, Alberdingk Boley GmbH, established a company called Thai Castor Oil Industries Co., Ltd. to crush castor seed in Thailand. The Company was created as a Thai-German joint venture with equity participation and financial support from both the Thai and German industrial development institutions. The main German partner whose experience in castor oil production stretched back more than half a century, provided the technical know-how with emphasis on quality oil production.
                     Thai Castor Oil Industries Co., Ltd. was registered as a Thai company on November 2, 1977. Two years later, in 1979 the construction of the first and only castor oil factory in South East Asia was completed and it had and annual capacity to crush 40,000 tons castor seed or produce 18,000 tons refined castor oil and 20,000 tons castor meal.
                     After a period of 5 year in selling castor oil and establishing quality oil reputation in the world market, the Company entered into a Thai-Japanese joint venture with the biggest Japanese producer of castor wax. Kawaken Fine Chemicals Com., Ltd. to produce Castor Wax in Thailnad. This subsidiary ws registered as a Thai company in 1984, and cerrently has capacity to produce 15,000 tons castor wax per year.
                     In 1989 a Thai-Japanese affiliated company, T.J Pac Co., Ltd. was established to produce special wax for solidifying used vegetable oil for convenient disposal and in 1990 another Thai-Japanese affiliated company, T S Chemical Co., Ltd. was established to produce mor sophisticated products: Dehydrated Castor oil (DCO) , Dehydrated Castor Oil Fatty Acid (DCO-FA), and Highly Conjugated Dhydrated Castor Oil Fatty Acid (Hy-diene).
                     In 1991 we also tookover a Thai-German business, Collodium Co.,Ltd. to produce paper sizing agants.
